Welcome to Vol. 3 Number 12 of the Radio H.F. Internet Newsletter. Previous issues of this newsletter can be found at www.anarc.org/cidx/radiohf/index.html [right here! — Ed.].

Happy Holidays everyone! Hard to believe that we've come to the end of another year. This issue marks the end of the third year of publication of this Newsletter. We welcome all the new subscribers to our group.

This month, as in previous December issues, I have included a special "Holiday Zone" featuring sites relating to Christmas, New Year, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. There are some you'll definitely want to share with the kids or grandkids.

In the radio world, December 12th marks the 100th anniversary of Marconi's first trans-Atlantic radio communication between Poldhu, Cornwall, England and Signal Hill in St. John's, Newfoundland. It's truly amazing that 100 years after the fact, the technology of radio remains the same, basically unchanged. The Radio Zone includes some sites that mark this important event.

Best wishes to all our subscribers for a happy, safe and prosperous holiday season. Why not share the Radio H.F. Internet Newsletter with a friend as a gift this season? Best of all, it's the gift that keeps on giving all year, and it's free.

Thanks for being with us up through our third year of publication. I look forward to a fun-filled 4th year beginning next month. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

The Marconi Radio Club consists of a group of amateur radio operators who commemorate Guglielmo Marconi and other early pioneers in the development of radio. This club, because of its geographical location, represents the Wellfleet, Massachusetts site of the Marconi Telegraph Companies wireless station in the yearly amateur radio Marconi Special Event. A special ham operation will take place to mark the 100th anniversary of Marconi's first transmission.

Rather, it's a site set up by CBC St. John's (Nfld) for the special programming they'll be doing to mark the centenary of Marconi's first trans-Atlantic radio transmission. Rather nice site to look at ... but you'll be frustrated if you want to try to print out any of the information ... give it a try.

What is Rigblaster? It's the easiest way to properly connect your radio to your computer's sound card so that you may operate using any present or future ham radio sound card software. Presently available ham radio sound card software, a Rigblaster, a radio and a computer is the easy and modern way to operate PSK31; MFSK16; MT63; Hellschriber; SSTV; RTTY; AMTOR; PACTOR; PACKET; APRS; CW; Contest Voice Keying; WSJT High Speed FSK meteor scatter; CW High Speed meteor scatter; FM repeater announcements, automatic and unattended; Simplex or duplex repeater control. Your computer and a RIGblaster take the place of old expensive adapters or TNCs. Depending on the microphone connection of your radio, one of the three different models should suit your needs.
